The property/holiday house is situated in Urke, a small village nestled amidst the beautiful mountains of Norangsfjorden. Urke hosts a population of approximately 50 people who reside there the whole year round. It is a small place that has been preserved almost like back in times of old. Romance runs rampant. Our village is very much alive with its single narrow winding road.

It has however everything its residents, and in the summer season its visitors, need to live from day to day. A local shop with postal service and pharmacy. Greenhouses where tomatoes and cucumbers are grown and sold in the village and further afield to other places in the surrounding areas. Urke also has its own pub/cafe with a fantastic outside area right on the waterfront.

The landskape of this area is truely majestic and some of Norways most famous mountain peaks are found here….to name a few… Slogen, Saksa, Skårasalen and Stålberghorn (steel horns). Just two years ago sherpers came from Nepal to build a stairway up to the top of Saksa….some call it the

’Stairway to Heaven’.

The peaks in Urke Valley are also just a stone throw away and most of this area is very popular with ski tourists from all over the world in winter and of course in summer tramping tourists come in their flocks to literally ”stand on top of the world”

The view from the property/holiday house is a panorama. Whatever direction you look in it is truely breathtaking..

In autumn the village is visited by Norways coastal cruiseship which sails from Bergen to the North Pole every day in spring, summer and autumn.  The ’Hurtigruten’ (speedy route) comes in to our fjord and anchors up for 3 hours while its passengers come ashore and explore the wonders of ’Urkebygda’.

The property/holiday house has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets and can sleep up to 8 people comfortably. It is modern and recently renovated.

It can be rented both in winter and sommer.  . There are boat and 2 kayaks which can be rented if required.

The house has a washing machine, fully equipped  kitchen and a dishwasher.

In the neighboring village Øye (6km from Urke) you wil find Hotel Union Øye which is open in the summer months and is most famous for its exquisite quisine and exclusive  history. Built in the 1800 AD it has been preserved in its original style and has host famous visitors from all over the world. An absolute must to see.
